To kill with kindness or violence.
If i work hard, what do i get?
In my opinion, i think if you strive for what you really dream of and never give up youll recieve it, and if you dont then youll recieve something just as great while trying to reach your goal.
I am..
I wonder what the outcome will be
I hear them all scream my name
I see my friends being beaten; close to death
I want to change all of this
I am a black woman participating in lunch counter sit-ins
I pretend as if these beatings don't hurt me
I feel the anger rising around me
I need more motivation
I worry for the lives of my friends
I cry at the thought of death
I am a black woman participating in lunch counter sit-ins
I understand the consequences of my actions
I believe that I can make a change
I dream that one day this world will become one
I try to convince them that it will
I hope that I'm right
I am a black woman participating in lunch counter sit-ins

- MLK and Civil Disobedience - Martin Luther King Jr. helped organize and lead the Montgomery Bus Boycott in 1955. Although he got arrested, the protest lasted 381 days until the Supreme Court took the case and declared the discrimination unconstitutional. Black people could now get on the bus and sit anywhere they wanted, without having to pay more or give up their seat based on race. He used the method of civil disobedience under his non-violent peace and equality movements.
- Power of the "Mob"-MLK taught his followers to be civily disobedient to resist violence and prove their point. The mob usually controls the outcome of the event because it's based on a majority system.
- Plessy v. Ferguson : Brown v. Board of Education - Plessy vs Ferguson is the Supreme Court law that acknowledged "separate but equal" accommodations for blacks and whites. This case was deemed unconstitutional in 1954 by Brown vs Board of Education; So Brown vs Board basically overturned Plessy vs Ferguson.
- Civil Rights Goals - In the 1960s, civil rights really started to become a big issue. People finally attempted the push for change; this was either carried out with nonviolence or "by any means necessary." Rights of equality in education and society were the main concerns (Little Rock 9, MLK civil disobedience, freedom rides, Malcolm X peace and harmony)
- Eisenhower's Role in Little Rock - The students of Little Rock, Arkansas were prevented from entering the racially segregated school due to Governor Orval Faubus ordering the Arkansas National Guard to blockade the black students outside of the school. These students were now faced with more danger than ever because along with the National Guard, came angry mobs. In response to this, President Eisenhower sent federal troops to enforce integration and protect the nine students. On September 24, 1957, the 101st Airborne Division of the US Army overpowered the 10,000 National Guard members, taking it out of the governor's hands.
- Rights of the Accused - Gideon v Wainwright said that the 6th Amendment requires counsel for defendants who are unable to afford their attorney, taxes will pay for legal representation. Escobedo v Illinois said that criminal suspects have the right to counsel during police interrogation. Miranda v. Arizona said that criminal suspects must be informed of their right to consult with a counsel prior to interrogation.
- Brown v Board of Education - the decision of the US Supreme Court that declared state laws establishing separate public schools for black and white students unconstitutional.
- Chavez and United Farm Workers - Cesar Chavez formed the United Farm Workers and helped organize strikes and civil disobedience for migrant workers. Even though he fought for rights of immigrants, he did not support their act of immigrating because he could only help the workers already there and couldn't handle anymore.
- FHA & ADA - The Federal Housing Administration: US government agency that insured loans made by banks and other private lenders for home building and home buying. The goals are to improve housing standards and conditions, provide and adequate home financing system through insurance of mortgage loans and to stabilize the mortgage market. The Americans with Disabilities Act: enacted by the US Congress in 1990. It is a wide ranging civil rights law that prohibits discrimination based on disability.
- Purpose of Filibusters - Filibusters are used to stop the opposing side from speaking. This tactic was used in the House of Representatives and the Senate to stop the Civil Rights Legislation from being passed. The speaker usually just talks nonstop about random things and is ironically quite successful.
- Sit-ins & Protests - A sit-in is a form of protest that involves occupying seats or sitting down on the floor of an establishment. The protesters remain until are evicted by force or arrested. They have historically been successful because they cause disruption that draws attention to the protesters' cause and are non-violent. Other protests were civil disobedience, violence, mobs, strikes and fasting.

SO im a girl and what!
Sexism has occured throughout history for years and years, and is till occuring today and most people dont realize it. Ever since the 1950's, us woman are made out to be only working in the kitchen, cleaning and taking care of the kids and our husband. Sure there isnt a problem with this, but we can do other things as well. We can do "boy work" we can farm, work in a factory, but in our time today, woman control their own businesses and we own our own things and are independent. Today, though, sexism seems to slowly creep through the walls once more. In my opinion, it would be nice for my job to be a housewife and have the husband work and make money but i dont enjoy the fact of being frowned upon because im a girl and i do have my rights just like everyone else.
Our Brains shall be fried for all eternity.

Ring from German Bunker at Stalingrad
It took me forever to find a piece that caught my attention, i wasnt looking for just some medal, or helmet because thats seems to be all that shows up. But this ring, whoever wore it during the war has many storied behind it. Yes, you can take your helmet or boots with you during the war, but what does it signify? But a ring, theres a reason to have a ring and it still didnt get destroyed. I would like to know who owed this ring, how they got it, and how many situations that person has been through wearing this ring. I think a ring like this signifies many things.Holocaust reaction
Honeslty, in the second video i couldnt believe that somoene who would talk about life after the holocaust wouldnt get emotional. This video didnt affect me as much as the other one but it gave me a good overview on how it was after the holocaust.

Well basically
I. Opening
At the beginning of the film, James Braddock is a very wealthy and successful boxer. Unfortunately after the great depression Braddock and his family are left poor and Braddock no longer being picked up for fights because of an injured hand, and is left begging for work everyday at the docks.
II. A Turn of Events
With the help of manager Joe Gould, Braddock is able to make a come back to boxing when the opponent of the number two contender in the world, Corn Griffin, suddenly drops out. To everyone’s surprise Braddock is victorious, and much to his wife’s dismay Braddock accepts Gould’s proposal to rebuild his career. James’ wife Mae, is angry at Gould for trying to profit out of James’ dangerous profession, until she find’s out that Gould and his wife have also been hurt by the depression.
III. Build Up
Braddock keeps winning fights and even uses some of the money he won to pay back the government for all of the unemployment checks he got, which impresses many people. In a newspaper James is nicknamed the “Cinderella Man” cause of the way he dances around the ring. Braddock starts to inspire people because he can relate to their struggle. In many ways he represents them. After many fights a title match comes his way, against Max Baer. Mae is terrified because Baer is known to have killed two men in the ring.
IV. The Big Fight
Many people from all around the neighborhood watched the fight rooting for Braddock, and even his children who weren’t allowed to watch it listen to it on the radio. During the fight Braddock was pummeled with a storm of punches. Much to Baer’s confusion Braddock kept coming back and slowly was able to wear down Baer. On June 13, 1935 by unanimous decision, James J. Braddock was given the Heavyweight title in what would be known as a historic match.
And the winner is..

Trapped among the Rock.
To be Guilty or Not to Be Guilty..

As Sacco was born in southern Italy and Vanzetti Northern Italy, they both migrated to the United States. They met in Boston at a meeting of Galleanist Anarchists, and then they flew to Mexico on their jaunt to avoid conscription. When they returned to the United States both men’s names are leaked from the newspapers that had information about them and then all citizens discovered that they are Italian anarchists. This was really bad. Then Sacco and Vanzetti are accused of being around the whereabouts’ where a bombing took place and Carlo Valdinoci was involved. Fortunately, Sacco and Vanzetti were not involved in this bombing.
Then a little by little, hell starts to set loose and the Justice Department start to round up anarchists and Sacco and Vanzetti consider returning to Italy, but doesn’t go as planned. Then they both discover one of their fellow anarchist buddy, Andrea Salsedo, had committed suicide out of guilt. Then both men agreed to meet up with Mario Boda and dispose of any evidence that caused the police department t consider searching for guilty evidence towards Andrea Salsedo, such as the stolen Buick that was at a crime scene. As Sacco and Vanzetti return home they are arrested around 10 pm as suspicious characters. And the police men automatically assume that Sacco was involved in the earlier mentioned bombing because of the shotgun shells located on him. They are sent to trial five times to be found guilty and guilty over again, and are eventually executed.
In my opinion, I don’t think they were the cause of the murder. There sure is not enough evidence to prove that Sacco and Vanzetti committed the crime just because of the stolen car and the shotgun shells Sacco had on him. Also, I believe they were just trying to find a way to execute them because they were anarchists and nobody wanted their children to e grown around people like them.

Topic 07 Concept Guide Yo..
Prohibition: Jan. 1920; Was pushed by women's organizations because of domestic violence and child abuse. 18th Amendment prohibited manufacture & sales of "intoxicating liquor" but however, it DID NOT ban consumptions, possession, or transportation of liquors. Speakeasies, started to appear. In 1932, FDR ran for president and used repealing 18th amendment as his platform and created the 22nd amendment, which got rid of the 18th.
Flappers: Women who: had short hair, smoked, showed her gams, shoulders, and cleavage.
Economic Issues (1920s): Credit available to consumers but was dangerous & people couldn't believe it. Low interest rates meaning they were charged money to borrow money. Then "Installment Plan" was introduced where you are on a fixed "plan" of how to pay back borrowed money.
Dust Bowl: A period of severe dust storms which damaged a lot of agriculture across America and Canada. Contributing factors included droughts, over farming, and mechanisation. Mechanism has made it easier to rebuild the farmlands because now it meant no more crop rotating.
Agriculture Issues: Caused by Dust Bowl but was aided by start of mechanism which meant no more crop rotating and made it easier to plant.
Immigration Policies (1920s): Oppositions to quotas disappear due to soldiers returning home from war taking all the jobs available so immigrant workers were less needed. Immigration Act of 1924 was established where 2% limit of each ethnic group from 1890 census would be allowed to migrate to U.S. per year. Asians were banned.

Pain on paper!
As most of your stuff that have been published about WikiLeaks may be causing America to burst into world chaos, I believe it is unbelievable that this Julian Assaunge is trying to be against our military when we Americans help the Australians. It’s unfair that he would leak this information about our military. I don’t think our nation should know about the things our military do when they are at war. Yes, it would be true for the people but really it’s not safe. I believe the government should shun this information for the sake of people because if they didn’t the people would no longer trust in our military and we would probably start to have to draft people because they are afraid of what will happen to them if they go to war now. It’s better because the people feel safe, and we can’t expose this information.
I don’t believe Julian Assaunge should be put into jail for exploiting this kind of information because that would be breaking the first amendment, our freedom of speech and I think its unfair to him to have people search for anything of a cause to throw him in jail. Though what he’s done was very cruel. I would like to know how he feels about our people in America. Does he not care about our safety? I wonder how he would feel if we exploited this kind of information towards Australia or another country. America is supposed to be the HERO! If this information were to be manifested throughout the United States then it should be discussed with the government not as soon as the information is leaked then we publish it into the biggest newspaper company so everyone can read them. Knowing how many people read NYTimes, there would be chaos throughout the whole United States.
Even though i have yet to become an adult, I am already speaking as mature as I possibly can and trying to convince you that this exploitation shouldn’t be published through our newspapers because who knows, it could cause another war. This type of problem leads to negative outcomes such as the people not having trust in our military, no one wants to go to the military, we all would feel unsafe if we think our military is at war and the soldiers all believe its some sort of game. How relevant that call of duty consumes every kind of child’s brain and now it’s portrayed in the videos that were leaked. Is it too late? Or are we just teaching our kids wrong by playing these games so if they do go to war this is how it would end. Maybe our soldiers are just used to this type of activity. I don’t think it should be like this. Either way it shouldn’t be published for the sake of our people. I can’t stress it enough
-Sincerely, Kat.
